a permanent endowment at Sinclair Community College
Why create a permanent endowment?
The Story Of Brandon...
Sometimes it is difficult to find words to express thoughts, but creative minds always seem to find a way - sometimes through poetry, sometimes through song, and sometimes through painting.
Let's start at the end of Brandon's young life, age 22, when he was shot and killed by his step-father in July, 2010. On a seemingly ordinary day a creatively gifted young man lost his life. And the world became less vibrant in that moment. No one is prepared for such a tragedy. He left hundreds of family and friends who mourn and love him..
Brandon was an artist who had dreams, aspirations and global concerns. He cared deeply about people who were less fortunate and worked on special graphic design projects through his church to further their cause. He took people under his young wings and taught them how to live life fully, no matter what their age. He was always quick to share his artistic skills, especially regarding his beloved Mac computer. He had an immeasurable love, not just for children who he taught the principles of spiritual living, but for all people he came into contact.
Several members at Town & Country Fine Art Center had the privilege of working with Brandon. He created many promotional projects for the art center and had a special connection to the members. It is only natural that those members, would want to honor him in a special way and see his memory live on. The Art Center has created The Brandon Haskins Memorial Art Scholarship, set up with Sinclair Community College, where Brandon studied Graphic Design. It is a way to preserve Brandon's creative spirit.
Why donate?
Why should you donate? Helping Brandon's family and friends preserve his creative spirit is a gift not only for others, but something we can all do to keep his spirit alive in the life of another art student. Some of Brandon's happiest times were spent on the Sinclair campus studying graphic design and he loved all of the arts. We have 3 years to earn $20,000.00, we can only do this with your support. We thank you, in advance, for any contribution you may make.
Preserve Brandon's legacy of creative vision and keep his compassion for others alive.
